Greene County placed third in the state softball tournament by defeating second ranked East Marshall 10-3 on Friday. The Rams, who were never ranked all season, finished with a 29-8 record.

Junior Marissa Promes improved her pitching record to 24-4 leading the Greene County softball team to a 2-0 victory over Center Point-Urbana in the state softball tournament. Promes also provided a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning.
