Sophomore Kasey Lane winds up to throw the shot put at the Ram Early Bird Meet. Dropping temperatures and increasing wind speeds caused officials to stop the competition before all the events were completed.

Cordero Reed was one of the runners on Paton-Churdan’s 4 x 800 team. The Rockets placed fifth in the event at the Ram Early Bird meet on Mar. 31.

The Rocket track and field teams braved the wind and falling temperatures to compete in the Early Bird track meet in Jefferson on March 31. The meet was shortened when the temperatures dropped dramatically and the winds kept increasing. No team scores were kept, but medals were awarded to those placing in the top five.

The P-C teams had five top five finishes. Emma Tilley placed third in the 400 dash and the 800 meter run, while Carleigh Paup came in fourth in the 400 meter dash. The boys 4 x 800 relay team with runners Colton Fitzpatrick, Dylan Burgart, Cordero Reed and Jake Carey placed fifth, and Noah Juergensen was fifth in the discus throw.
