Jake Carey named to Academic All-State Basketball Team

Jake Carey, Paton-Churdan senior, was one of 26 boys recently named to the prestigious 2015 Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State Boys Basketball Team. The members selected were nominated by their coaches and represent all classes in the state of Iowa. The team boasts the following averages: ACT scores 29.8, Grade Point Average 4.0, and scoring average of 18.5 points per game. In addition, 18 of the 26 on the team rank first in their respective high school classes.
Carey is considering playing basketball at the next level, but has not decided where he will attend college. He is not sure of his major but is leaning toward a medically related field such as physical therapy. Jake was also on the Academic All-State Football Team this past fall.
