Borgeson wins pair at double dual

Greene County’s varsity wrestling team traveled to Winterset on Thursday, Dec. 3 and dropped a pair of dual meet losses to both Carroll High and Winterset. Against Carroll High, the Rams fell 63-12. Kane Borgeson won by pin in 39 seconds at 113 pounds and Isaac Ireland received a forfeit at 138. Isaiah Yoder lost by pin at 160 pounds and Hunter Ruth lost by decision at 195.

Against Winterset, the Rams fell 63-6. Borgeson won by pin in 29 seconds at 113 pounds to tally Greene County’s lone victory. Ireland lost by pin at 138 pounds, Yoder lost by decision at 160 and Ruth lost by pin at 195.

The Rams also competed at the Mustang Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 5. The tournament was hosted by Dallas Center-Grimes and Greene County finished the day with five place winners. Borgeson took fourth at 113 pounds, Ruth finished seventh at 195 and the trio of Cayden Gerdes, Ireland and Yoder each respectively placed eighth at 132, 138 and 160.

Greene County will wrestle at Collins-Maxwell-Baxter tonight.
