Richard Creamer

Richard James “Dick” Creamer, 87, of Jefferson, formerly of Grand Junction, died August 23, 2015 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson

Visitation was Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home.  Burial will take place at a later date at Belden Cemetery, Belden, Nebraska.

Richard  “Dick” was born March 31, 1928 in Belden, Nebraska, the son of Robert Lee and Ethel (Seyl) Creamer.   

In 1928, after Richard was born the family moved to Laurel, Nebraska where they lived until December of 1945 when they moved to Grand Junction.  Dick graduated from Grand Junction Consolidated Schools in 1948.  After graduation, Dick worked as a hired hand on an area farm until 1955 when he became an operator of diesel engines at the Grand Junction Municipal Light Plant.  He worked there until 1975 when he moved to Traer, Iowa where he worked as an operator in the Municipal Light Plant there.  Dick retired from the Light Plant in January of 1987 and returned to Grand Junction.

Dick loved football and was a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan.  He loved to travel and would often follow the Huskers to watch them play, making a few trips to the Rose Bowl.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.  

He is survived by his sister Phyllis Staebler of Jefferson; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson assisted the family with arrangements.
