Rhonda Coil

Rhonda J. Coil, 60, of Jefferson, died peacefully Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.brucesfuneralhome.com

Rhonda was born Sept. 17, 1961, in Jefferson. She attended Jefferson-Scranton High School. On July 6, 1984, she was united in marriage to Albert Coil in Greene County and to this union two children were born: Shane and Stefanie. The couple later divorced.  Rhonda worked at Frigidaire in Jefferson for many years. She also worked for Sam’s Club in Ames for several years and lastly Coremark in Carroll. As a child in Farlin Rhonda enjoyed riding ponies, minibikes and jumping on the trampoline. Sunday dinners at Grandpa and Grandma Coellner’s with all the aunts, uncles, and cousins were always cherished. She loved fast cars and being outdoors. She enjoyed camping and fishing along with many conversations held around the fire pit. She enjoyed sports of all kinds and was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, Iowa State was her college team and she looked forward to watching both team whenever she could. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a great love for animals especially her dogs Jasper and Bella. 

Rhonda is survived by two children: Shane Coil and wife Jinny of Jefferson and Stefanie Coil of Jefferson; three grandchildren: Sean Coil, Chase Coil and Alannah Menz; her biological mother: Sharon Johnson of Jefferson; and five siblings: Stephen Custer of Missouri, Sheryl Zimmerman and husband Doug of Carroll, Laura Wine and husband Jeff of Lake City, Lisa Coellner of Churdan, and Thomas Moore and wife Vicki of North Carolina. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Herman and Mary (Conroy) Coellner; three siblings: Jerry Coellner, Marilyn Liess and Kay Hayes; niece: Bridgett Murphy; and nephews: Mark Schroeder, Mike Coellner, Dimitrios Turnas and bonus nephew: Jake Wine.
