Randall J. Jones

Randall James Jones, son of James and Ruth (Sylvester) Jones, died at his home in Coralville on Feb. 8, 2022. He was 69 years of age.

 Randy was born in Carroll on Dec. 13, 1952. He grew up in Scranton. During his youth, he played the organ at the Scranton Methodist Church, playing for Sunday services, weddings, and funerals. He graduated from Scranton High School as class Valedictorian in 1971.

 Randy received a bachelor’s degree from Drake University in 1975 and continued his studies at Indiana University where he earned a master’s degree in one year’s time. Randy studied at the University of Iowa and received a Doctorate in Music Performance.

 Randy worked for IBM and Wells Fargo. Most recently he worked for Computershare Australia.

 Randy was an avid reader. He enjoyed playing classical music on both the piano and organ. He followed University of Iowa athletic events.

 Randy is survived by his parents, Jim and Ruth Jones of Jefferson.

 No public funeral services are planned. Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home assisted the family.
