Maxine Rothfolk, 92, of Jefferson, a life-long Greene County resident, died January 30, 2018 at her home in Jefferson. The family will visit with friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson, followed by a 10:30 memorial services. Lunch will be served at St. Joseph’s parish center followed by interment at Richland Township Cemetery in Guthrie County, Iowa.
Mary Maxine Rothfolk was born September 16, 1925 to Elnina Martin Rothfolk and Edward Rothfolk. She graduated from Cooper High School in 1942.
Maxine worked for 42 years at the Home State Bank in Jefferson. She retired as assistant vice-president and executive secretary on August 31, 1984. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson. Maxine will be remembered for her welcoming smile and her quick wit.
She is survived by nephews, E. Thomas (Sharon) Rothfolk of Mesa, Ariz. and B. William (Jean) Rothfolk of Dayton, Tenn.; niece-in-law, Mardella Sorensen of Walker, Iowa; many great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elnina and Edward Rothfolk; brother, Paul Rothfolk; brother, Bernard Rothfolk and his wife, Nellie; nephew, Bob Sorensen; and special friend, Morris Sherbring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Greene County Medical Center for 3-D mammography equipment.
