Marjorie Blanshan

Marjorie Ione (Lincoln) Blanshan, formerly of Grand Junction, Iowa died on December 29, 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the Junction Township Cemetery.

Marge was born on July 4,1923 in Canby, Minnesota to Charles and Rachel (McGee) Lincoln. She grew up in the Madrid/Woodward area and graduated from Ogden High School in 1941. On July 12, 1941 she was joined in marriage to Donald Blanshan of Grand Junction. They farmed the family farm and raised three children: Carol, David and Patty. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ladies Aid but the majority of her time and life was spent on the farm. She was an able farm partner as she could handle the farm equipment as well as anyone.

She and Don became snowbirds in their retirement, thoroughly enjoying their travels to Texas and southern California. Later she traveled with her sister-in-law and spent happy times in the Mississippi area. Marge lived contentedly on the farm for many years before moving to Omaha in 2009. She missed being on the farm and her Grand Junction friends, but enjoyed being near her family.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and son, David. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Milo, Cleo, Kenneth and Wayne; and sister, Mildred. She is survived by Carol Eckwall and Patty McKowen, of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren: Lori (Carl) Nardin, Teri Minardi, Jodi Minardi, Brian (Heather) McKowen, Bill (Shelly) Blanshan, Jenny (Bruce) Wessling and Daryl Blanshan; and eight great-grandchildren.

Bel Air Chapel, Omaha, NE. 402-391-3900.
