Leslie Bush

Les Bush, 76, of Winterset, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines.

A graveside service was held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter.

Leslie Dale Bush, son of Leslie and Ruth (Libby) Bush, was born May 22, 1941 in Madison County, Iowa. He attended schools in the Macksburg area and graduated from Macksburg High in 1959. Les was united in marriage with Lois Wills in 1961 and three children were born to this union. He later married Ruth Crawley in 1980.

Les enlisted in the Army and served from 1960 to 1963. After his service, he worked at American Athletic and Franklin Manufacturing.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Les also enjoyed bowling and playing cards: cribbage, pitch, pinochle and euchre being his favorites. He cherished the time spent with friends and family.

Les is survived by three children: Linda (Brian) Grimm of Williamsburg, Larry Bush (June Gregory) of Churdan and Laura Wright (John Jones) of Urich, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Beverly Lousignont of Casey, Margaret Hulse of Creston and Evelyn Hamilton of Davis City; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert in infancy.
