Edward Morgan

Edward Duane Morgan, son of Wayne Edward Morgan and Martha Tuhn Morgan, was born Jan. 17, 1930 in Greene County. Eddie went to school in Cooper and then to Jefferson High School. He lived out on the farm and helped his father take care of their land. Eddie met the love of his life, Betty Ilene Howey, at a roller-skating rink in Guthrie Center. The two were united in marriage on June 4, 1950 at the Bethel Church. Eddie and Betty were blessed with four children Terry, Karen Kay, Rick, and Roger. In 1955 their baby girl passed away, and the family was lost, but their love for one another got stronger. Eddie worked for Andrew’s Feed Mill, did some construction work, Gas Services in South Dakota, and farmed his land. He liked riding on his motorcycle and snowmobile. Eddie was a member of the Elks Lodge in Jefferson and the Raccoon Valley Snow Goers. Eddie and Betty wintered in South Texas for 19 years. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren and their children. Eddie died January 4, 2023 at Kennybrook Village in Grimes. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty in 2019, daughter Karen Kay, son Terry Morgan, daughter-in-law Connie Morgan, sister Marjorie Murphy (Oliver), and nephews Bill Kafer and Ron Lawson.
