Darla was born December 29, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa to Duane and Cleo (Eason) Duff. She was the third of eight children. Darla grew up on the family farm and graduated from Scranton High School in 1971 where she was homecoming queen. Upon graduation from high school, she went to the Iowa Lutheran School of Nursing in Des Moines. As a nurse she spent many years of her career in the obstetrics field caring for mothers and their babies.

In August of 1975, she was married to Ed Cline of Guthrie Center at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Scranton by Msgr. Koester. To this union were born two children, Ryan James and Crystle Lee. They made their home in Guthrie Center and Jefferson. The couple later divorced and Darla and her children lived in Ames, Iowa. After her children were grown, Darla moved to Colorado to be a traveling nurse where she could continue doing what her passion was, working with mothers and babies. Darla retired in 2015 and moved back to Scranton to care for her mother Cleo.

Darla was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved the peace of being on the farm and going to the mountains. Her smile could light up a room. She was an avid Iowa State Cyclones and Denver Broncos fan.

Darla is survived by her son, Ryan Cline (Kassie) of Casey; her daughter, Crystle Thompson (Chris) of State Center; four grandchildren: Ryder, Kaleb, Chloe and Karys; her siblings: Debbie (Tom) Powell of Katy, Texas, Dixie (Jim) Moore of Waterloo, Dannae McReynolds of Lakewood, Colo., Deanne Strawn (Bruce) of Katy, TX, Doug Duff of Scranton and Deirdre Allen (Terry) of Grand Junction, Colo.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
