Chet Laughery

Chet “Chester” Laughery of Anaheim, CA, was born on November 22, 1929, at Guthrie Center and passed away on Jan. 26.

Chet graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952 as a radio operator. He saw heavy action in Korea and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant.

He is survived by brothers: Darrell, Duane, Ronald, Dennis and Dale Laughery; sisters, Beverly Moore, Lila Ledoux and Sandra Morgan; wife, Ardiss Laughery; daughter, Vicky Wise, Laguna Woods, CA; grandchildren, Dustin and Leah Wise, Buena Park, CA; great-grandchildren: Sophia, Elijah and Olivia; son, Kevin Laughery, Guthrie Center; grandchildren: Lorelle and J.D. Hinote, Jefferson; great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Lily, Jordan and Malachi; grandchildren, Kevin Jr, Kari, Kayli and Karter; son, Richard Laughery, Harrison, AR; grandchildren: Richard II, Kathryn, Joseph and Rae Ann; son, Robert Laughery, Riverside, CA; granddaughter, Lindsay, Riverside, CA; other relatives and friends.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Boyd and Gretchen Laughery; three brothers, Rex, Eldon and Gary Laughery, and sister, Phyllis Moses.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 31, at the Hilgenfeld Mortuary in Anaheim, CA. Services are planned at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Orange, CA with burial in Arlington Miltary Cemetery in Riverside, CA at 10:15 a.m. on Feb. 6.
