Brett Hegwood

Brett (Biker) Hegwood was born on July 12th 1968, died May 9th, 2023, the first boy born into the family of Kenneth Lee Hegwood & Kathryn Ann (Kunce) Hegwood. He had three sisters that came before him Sherry, Teresa, and Kim. His brother Kevin followed in 1970.

He grew up in Jefferson, and his childhood was filled with love and family. As a child he rode bikes, went swimming, loved camping and spending time with friends. We never knew how good we had it!!

Brett excelled in track and field, he was very fast on his feet!! He was a good student and I don’t think he ever missed a day of High School.

He would spend a lot of his money he made on Easyrider magazines and In the Wind. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, along with the lifestyle of freedom that came with it, and would talk about them as long as you would listen. He also loved music and escaped into the lyrics and the sound of the bands he enjoyed.

If you knew Brett, you were lucky, as I don’t think the world has ever seen a kinder soul!!! If you seen him, he always had a big smile!

He was surrounded by family and friends that loved him…he had his favorite aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews! (you know who you are!!) But no one out shined his loving Mother. She loved him, and everyone unconditionally! And if you were his friend, it was until the end!

Fare thee well, and know as long as we live you will live on, in our hearts, our stories, and our memories!!

A moment in time is like flowing water, once it’s past, the opportunity to revel in it is gone!!

Enjoy the moments you have left before they are gone!

He wasn’t heavy…he was my brother!!!!
