AnnGrace Krieger
AnnGrace was a beloved woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness, passion for travel and her deep love for animals. AnnGrace Jean Lambert-Krieger was born on August 31, 1934, in Queens Village Brooklyn, New York to Ann Marie Hubert and John Jacob Lambert. AnnGrace met Ernest L. Krieger in the spring of 1957 and they were joined in marriage on June 21st 1958. The couple moved to Iowa in the spring of 1959 and opened Krieger’s Flower Shop and Greenhouses in the spring of 1960. It is at this location that they raised their four children; Kurt, Ross, Suzanne and Andy. Over the years AnnGrace cultivated many relationships that spanned continents and across many generations. AnnGrace kept in touch with all of her many friends via letters, cards and calls. It was not uncommon for AnnGrace to write a dozen cards a week while seated at her floral desk and on any given week she would receive as many in return. AnnGrace’s life centered around four “F’s, Faith, Friends, Family and Flowers, she put much of her effort and energy into keeping all four front and center in her life. AnnGrace loved to stay involved in her close-knit community. She could be seen weekly either at the pool, at the library, the museum or at any dinner or brunch she was invited to. From a young age, AnnGrace had an insatiable wanderlust, and she turned that passion into a lifelong adventure, always embracing the beauty and diversity of cultures and landscapes. But it wasn’t just the worlds destinations that captured her heart. Her love for animals always directed her life and the many adopted cats and dogs she cared for over the years are a testament to this lifelong love and devotion. AnnGrace is preceded in death by her parents, brother John Lambert and sister Catherine Fagen, her granddaughter Charlotte Ann Krieger as well as her husband Ernest. She is survived by her four children Kurt Krieger (Carmen) of Jefferson; Ross Krieger (Laura) of Boone; Suzanne Krieger-Mjolsness (Russell) of Nevada; Andy Krieger (Denise Lawson) of Jefferson; five grandchildren Karl Krieger, Kevin Krieger, Angie Dudley, Coty Woods (Ronald) and Amanda Kopaska, great grandchildren Mia and River Woods.
