Grant Helps with Ease of Access for Ever Greene Ridge Residents

Special to the Jefferson Herald

Residents of Ever Greene Ridge are thrilled with work that has just been completed on the installation of a handicap-accessible entry. They are also extremely grateful for the support they received from the Greene County Community Foundation.

“A $5,500 grant award this spring moved this project from our resident’s wish list to reality,” said Greene County Medical Center Foundation Director, Nancy Houska. “This has brought ease of access and enhanced security while keeping costs down for our independent seniors.”

Built 30 years ago, Ever Greene Ridge is operated by the not-for-profit Greene County Medical Center Foundation. Since opening, it has provided a safe, secure and convenient living option for seniors 55 and older and remains one of the few independent living options in the entire region. One, two or three-bedroom apartments are available with full access to common areas in a home-like atmosphere without the stress of maintenance and upkeep.

“We frequently hear from our seniors and their families that Ever Greene Ridge has helped maintain one of the most important things to them, their independence,” Houska said. “We want to thank the Greene County Community Foundation for partnering with us in an investment that brings added value and peace of mind to their daily lives.”
