School bus hits two parked cars

No injuries were reported Friday morning after a bus carrying grade-school students struck two parked cars at Greene County Middle School, pushing one of them into the northbound lane of South Elm Street.
The crash happened about 7:41 a.m., according to Jefferson police, when a Greene County Community School District bus began to turn toward Elm Street from the circle drive on the west side of the middle school.
The bus struck a parked 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue and a parked 2009 Chrysler Town and Country van, according to police, pushing the minivan onto Elm Street.
The police department was assisted at the scene by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson Fire Department.
The incident remains under investigation.
