New round of grants on the table
Staff report
It’s that time of year again — the Greene County Community Foundation anticipates awarding a total of about $120,000 in grants to local organizations and worthy projects.
The foundation is now accepting applications for grants up to $35,000 to be awarded in March.
Completed applications will be due at the Greene County office of Iowa State University Extension by 4:30 p.m. Feb. 12.
Application forms are available online at www.extension.iastate.edu/greene/page/greene-county-community-foundation.
They also will be available at the Extension office.
To assist in the application process, the foundation will hold a grant-writing workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Extension office.
Call Linda Hedges, co-chair of the grant-making committee, at 515-386-4740 or the Extension office at 515-386-2138 for more details.
“We are excited to see what projects people are dreaming of doing this coming year,” Hedges said in a statement. “We really encourage organizations around the county to submit a grant application.”
Foundation board members will score the applications on Feb. 21. Grants will be awarded and available on March 20.
