Move over USPS, Genesis upping its game

Genesis Development, the locally based provider of services for people with disabilities, has announced a new service at its Jefferson location.

The organization has been manufacturing custom-made corrugated boxes since 1985, with the majority of sales generated through a dedicated website, www.customboxesonline.com.

With Christmas approaching,  the corrugated department has expanded its scope and is now offering one-stop packaging and shipping services.

In addition to providing or making a box for any item, Genesis will also supply the packaging materials, package the items to be shipped, provide overnight or standard ground shipping using preferred shipper rates, provide tracking notification, and shipping insurance if desired for one price.

Drop off your item at Genesis and, within 24 hours, it will be packaged and shipped to your desired destination.

If you prefer to package items yourself, drop off your ready-to-ship package.

“Because our corrugated department deals with federal contracts, we are able to offer preferred FedEx shipping rates to our customers,” according to Jim Groves, corrugated manager at Genesis. “We also offer UPS and USPS shipping if the shipper prefers, however, our FedEx rates are a much better bargain for the sender.”

Items to be shipped can be dropped off at the Genesis facilities at 401 W. McKinley St.
