A traveling caravan featuring coaches, ISU athletes, spirit squad members, and Cy, the ISU mascot will be at 209 Main in Paton next Tuesday, May 13 at noon. Paton is the first of eleven stops over eight days. Football coach Paul Rhoads, men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg,  and women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly will be part of the group as will athletic director, Jamie Pollard, and John Walters, who is the voice of the Cyclones on radio broadcasts.

The event is free, but those wishing to eat lunch will be on their own. Prizes will be given away, and there will be photo opportunities, but the group will only be stopping for one hour and will leave promptly at 1 p.m. for their next stop at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. Paton is the smallest community to host the ISU tailgate group. Other stops will be at Arnolds Park, Cedar Rapids, Bettendorf, Waterloo, Clear Lake, Sioux City, Knoxville, Dubuque, and Newton.
