What fun is raking leaves if you’re not going to jump into them at some point? Greene County High School students (from left) Serenity Blair, Janelle Brophy, Caytlyn Adamson, Kara Reed and Kolton Showers take the leap Nov. 2 in a yard on West Washington Street. The high school has kept a good thing going now for 20 years. What started in 1997 with the school’s Interact Club raking 15-20 yards has turned into an afternoon of service for the student body and staff. Students on Nov. 2 raked 134 total yards in Senior Haley Hall sends leaves airborne as she rakes a yard Nov. 2 on South Chestnut Street. Teachers and their advisory groups each raked two to six yards.Ozzi Smithson carefully delivers a load of leaves to a pile forming on West Adams Street. In Jefferson, the city provided two garbage trucks to collect the leaves.
